Uncleanness is the fifth official album of the Brunswick NDH band Oomph! and was released from the label Virgin Records on March 2, 1998. On January 26, appeared in 1998 in the run the first single " Crucified ".

Label

Impurity is the first album that was released by the Virgin label. Reason for the change was the following label in their own words:

" Virgin was already interested in 1995 ' Defekt' tour for us and wanted us even then signets, but unfortunately did not release us from our contract Modern Music, even though you wanted to buy us out of our deal [ ... ] We, however, it was clear that many of these labels in Rammstein craze were, and since they probably came a band like Oomph! just right, the Rammstein has influenced according to their own statement. We finally chose the company that wanted signets us due to our autonomy and self-sufficient operation in 1995. "

Background and themes

All lyrics on the album were written by the singer Dero Goi. Thematically, the faith and the church is at the center. Guitarist Crap criticized in a later interview, that " the complete album " impurity " just on the subject of church [ is ] ."

The album was named after the ninth of the same track. The meaning of the title is already in the intro " Mother's lap " show, which consists of only one sentence:

" We are born impure, and from the first moment glued to blame us, as the blood from mother's womb. "

Songwriter Dero defines the title of " uncleanness " as follows:

"Of course, the title of ' uncleanness ', as well as most of my texts on different levels of interpretation. But he is undoubtedly always connected to the individual moral and ethical understanding of every human being and without it would be unthinkable. "

Vocally attacks Dero keep coming back to the guttural vocals. The lyrics are mostly in German, but the chorus is from " Our salvation " in Latin and some songs in English.

Crucified 2006

Due to the positive response of " Crucified " at concerts the band as " Crucified 2006 / The Power Of Love " Single decided to republish the title and the whole, in addition to a cover of Frankie Goes to Hollywood's " The Power of Love " to publish. The new version is slightly altered lyrics, instrumental provided with new effects and vocal technically carry less aggressive.
