Unseburg is a district of the municipality Bördeaue and lies in the north of the salt district in Saxony- Anhalt.

Geography

The village lies on the right bank of the Bode on the northern edge of the Harz, about 25 kilometers southwest of Magdeburg

History

The Mesolithic grave at Unseburg was found in excavations that were carried out 1984-1999 in the vineyard. The first mention of the town was on June 7, 939 in the document book of the Archbishopric of Magdeburg in connection with the castle Unseburg.

On January 1, 2010, the formerly independent communities Unseburg and Tarthun merged to form the new municipality Bördeaue.

Attractions

Among the attractions of the place is one of the Protestant Church of St. Stephen. The tower of the church dates from the 12th century, the nave was built in 1839.
