The host and farmer Karl Hoffmann learns by telegram that the distant relatives in Romania managed to leave and look for him to stay. In his rich brother Bruno, he finds advice.

Criticism

In an article for the mirror later Literature Nobel Laureate Herta Müller slating the series. They especially criticized the false and prejudiced view of the Romanian-German emigrants.
