The Unterberghorn is a 1773 m above sea level. A. high, isolated massif of the Wilder Kaiser mountains in the district of Kitzbühel in Tyrol. The north side is accessible by lifts for skiing and hiking tourism.

Location and landscape

The double peaks (side peaks Hefferthorn, 1735 m ) provided Horn is the local mountain of places Kössen (near the Bavarian border ) and St. Johann in Tyrol, between which it is - to the west of the Valley of Großache - builds. It is all the more to advantage, as each of the two resorts is located in a pronounced basin. Development

On the eastern side lies a vast pasture, the Zellerinalm. An even more extensive pasture occupies the north relatively gently sloping back, the lower mountain is called. Between this ridge and the Unterbergalm ( 1278 m) runs a cable car, while below the hut is accessible by a good road, and the whole northern slope by ski lifts.

The popular holiday and ski resort ( Unterberghorn tracks ) is also increasingly being used again for hiking, as well as of the paragliders and hang-gliders. The cable cars are Schröcksnadel group.
