Uplifting Trance

Uplifting trance, sometimes called Anthem Trance or Epic Trance, is a subgenre of trance music in the spectrum of electronic music, which has a hymn-like euphoric character. Uplifting Trance was the middle / end of the 90 developed especially in Germany, England and the Benelux countries.

Characteristic elements

The term is especially used Anthem in connection with major events like Nature One or Trance Energy, which also expresses that in comparison to the trance an even stronger feeling of ecstasy is produced; by catchy melodies, patterns and sequences of the handset is placed in a sense, what influenced him a hand meditative, but on the other hand, triggers the urge to have to move it.

Often, the bassline is not, as in classic trance from a 4/4-Offbeat bassline, but mostly from a kind of " gallop " ( Veracocha - Carte Blanche, here particularly good to hear already under construction part). Here the appropriate steps by the enormous compression (compressor) the patterns are emphasized. The result is a punchy, "driving " dynamics. However, the bass drum is merely an accompanying element and dominated rare. The focus here all alone the melody, which is characterized by a mostly bright, tense, euphoric tone.

History

The style originated in parallel with the first massive rave parties in the early 1990s. Especially famous was the Berlin Formation Members of Mayday, which has its own "Hymn " composed to any of the known Mayday raves, for example Rave Olympia ( 1994) and We Are Different ( 1995), which were also successful in the German charts. However, later releases of this duo are no longer the Uplifting / Anthem Trance Act.

Other pioneers of this music are, as in the "Dutch - Trance", Armin van Buuren, Ferry Corsten, Above & Beyond, or MIKE, with now establish more and more Scandinavian newcomers, such as Vascotia, Airbase or Super8.
