Upsilon Andromedae c

υ Andromedae c ( Upsilon Andromedae c ), short υ And c is an exoplanet that accompanies the yellow dwarf Upsilon Andromedae. Due to its high mass is assumed that it is a gas planet.

Discovery

As the majority of exoplanets was also discovered that using the radial velocity method. The planet was by Geoffrey Marcy et al. discovered in 1999.

Circulation and mass

The planet orbits the central star with a period of 241 days at a distance of about 0.8 astronomical units at an eccentricity of 0.26 and has a mass of about 2.0 Jupiter masses.
