Urania Leilus is a butterfly (moth ) from the family of Urania moth ( Uraniidae ).
Description
The moths reach a wingspan of up to 7 cm. The ground color of the wings is black. You have several blue - green shimmering bars on the forewings. The hind wings are black except for the greenish rim. They are drawn out into long tails. Therefore, the butterflies in the first description in the genus Papilio, which belongs to the Knights moths were counted.
Dissemination
The species is up to the Dominican Republic in tropical South America ( Neotropics ).
Nutrition
The caterpillars feed on the poisonous plants of the genus Omphalea.
