Urho Kekkonen's fourth cabinet

The Cabinet Kekkonen IV was the 36th government cabinet in the history of Finland. There officiated July 9, 1953 to November 17, 1953 ( 132 days ).

In June 1953 Prime Minister Urho Kekkonen from the Land League had his resignation, announced due to persistent differences between Landbund and Social Democrats to a cost-cutting program that would prevent a looming recession. President Juho Kusti Paasikivi commissioned Kekkonen thereupon with the formation of a minority government. Kekkonen formed in the summer of 1953 with the Swedish People's Party, a new government, but only four more months remained in office until mid-November and was eventually replaced in November by the transitional government Sakari Tuomiojas up in March took place in 1954 elections.
