Urma Sellinger is the eponymous debut album by the Swedish post-hardcore group Urma Sellinger from Stockholm.

It was released on January 26, 2012 in -house production. The album will be available worldwide through several online portals such as Amazon, iTunes, Spotify and Music Load for download. As CD Urma Sellinger is yet to acquire only the band's own online store, which also spreads the CD world.

Production and publication

The album was launched by British music producer Matt Hyde (such as Bullet for My Valentine, Funeral for a Friend, Slipknot ), the already published in 2010 3- track EP "Live Laugh Love " recorded in the Bro Studios in London and at Lunatic Music ( a label founded in 2009 and recording studio ) produced in Gävle. Back in February of 2011, the band announced to work with Hyde.

During the production of the album bassist Axel Valvik left the band in May for personal reasons.

In August Urma Sellinger published the song "Plastic Smile" in advance on Facebook and MySpace. On December 8, the single " For Those We've Lost " was released as a download on iTunes, Spotify and Amazon. This song was played in advance at Bandit Rock on November 22, 2011. Several songs of the group are also played at the Australian online radio station The Pit FM.

The cover artwork was designed by Finnish graphic design company Century designs from Joensuu.

In the songs Urma Sellinger draws on various topics. Thus, of broken relationships ( "Far from Sandra ," " Nothing But a Lie " ), love (" Every Second, Every Day " ), personal problems ( "Hide & Seek ", "Plastic Smile" ), but also of the consequences of war and other political problems reported ( " For Those We've Lost " ) reports.

The band describes the songs personal experience, try the listener but also the world from the eyes of the musicians present. The band describes itself as apolitical as they wanted to just pay attention to social problems.

Reviews

Sebastian Kristensen from the Swedish online portal " Rocknytt " criticized the album and gave a positive Urma Sellinger 8 out of 10. He thought it a pity that the album halfway out " old material exists already posted on previous EPs and singles" were, however, he writes, " that the new material was nevertheless managed ". He described the play " For Those We've Lost " as "an incredible song with hit - guarantee". "Hide & Seek " he describes as a ballad, which turns out to be increasing with the course of the song is completely different. The song "Far from Sandra " is, according to Kristensen an "old classics " he can hardly be forgotten. He also praises the work of Matt Hyde, who is even compared with star producer Joey Sturgis.

In the British Crimson Moon Zine, an online music portal, the group has great talent, with which the musicians could achieve a high musical quality awarded. The critics awarded 8.5 out of 10 possible points.
