US Bancorp Tower

The U.S. Bancorp Tower is a 163 meters high and 42 floors scoring skyscraper in Portland, Oregon. This makes it the second tallest building in Oregon to the Wells Fargo Center and has approximately 69,000 m² floor space, the largest in Oregon.

Location

The building is located at 111 SW 5th Avenue somewhat isolated from the rest of the city's skyscrapers.

History

The building was designed by Skidmore, Owings and Merrill. On May 29, 1981 began working with the excavation of the foundation. The structural construction works were completed in June 1983. Finally, it was officially opened on 1 December of the same year. The building was built as an extension of the 7 -story U.S. Bank plazas.

Until 1997 the building which the headquarters of U.S. Bancorp. Then the company moved its headquarters to Minneapolis. It continues to be used by the company. In addition, it was used in the 1990s by Louisiana - Pacific.

In August 2006, JPMorgan bought the building for 286 million U.S. dollars.
