Usnisa Vijaya Dharani Sutra

The Usnisa vijaya dharani ( Uṣṇīṣa Vijaya Dharani ) or Usnisa vijaya dharani sutra (Chinese佛顶 尊胜 陀罗尼 经/佛顶 尊胜 陀罗尼 经, Pinyin Foding Zunsheng tuoluoni jing, English Dharani of the Jubilant Corona / Dharani of Buddha - Corona the Triumphant ) is a sutra of esoteric Buddhism. The name and contents

The Sutra is an invocation of the " Radiant Buddha corona " ( Usnisa vijaya, Chinese尊胜 佛顶or佛顶 尊胜, Eng. Jubilant Buddha-Corona/Buddha-Corona the Triumphant ). Their forces are to prolong life and to redeem them from the sufferings of samsara. Under Ushnisha (Sanskrit, n, उष्णीष, uṣṇīṣa ) is a survey at the apex of the head of Buddha to understand.

Translations

Besides the many Tibetan and Chinese translations, there are translations in Khotanese, Uighur, Tangut and Mongol ( Phagspa font). It was translated into Chinese in the early period of the Tang Dynasty. The most popular translation is that of Buddhapala from the time of the Tang Dynasty. One of the oldest Sanskrit manuscripts ( a palm-leaf manuscript ) of Usnisa vijaya dharani in the Gupta script were discovered in the Horyuji monastery in Japan.
