The USS Maine (SSBN-741) is a nuclear submarine of the United States Navy and is part of the Ohio - class. As Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear she leads with 24 ICBMs.
History
SSBN -741 was commissioned in 1988 and established in July 1990 at Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut on Kiel. The construction of the submarine took about four years, in July 1994 it was launched from the dock and was named after the U.S. state of Maine. Another year later, after the final finishing and the shipyard sea trials, the Maine was put at the service of the U.S. Navy.
