The USS Maryland (SSBN-738) is a nuclear submarine of the United States Navy and is part of the Ohio - class. As Ship Submersible Ballistic Nuclear she leads with 24 ICBMs.

History

SSBN -738 was commissioned in 1986 and in the same year, in April, Keel-laying. Shipyard was Electric Boat in Groton, Connecticut. There the boat was completed in August 1991 and launched from the dock. Also, was the christening, as patron of the U.S. state of Maryland has been selected. After the final outfitting and sea trials the Maryland could be put into service in June 1992.
