The USS Ohio ( SSBN-/SSGN-726 ) is a submarine of the United States Navy and the lead ship of the Ohio class.

History

Shipyard for the Ohio was Electric Boat, the boat was put officially into service on 11 November 1981. In October 1982, Ohio began the first deterrent patrol, and 1998 was followed by 49 more, bringing the lead ship of the Ohio - class first -class graduated 50 patrol car.

At the beginning of the 21st century, the Ohio was supposed to be decommissioned. Instead, it was converted from the end of 2002 in the Puget Sound Naval Shipyard to a SSGN. As a special platform for launching cruise missiles, the Ohio was re- assigned to the fleet in 2006. In October 2007, the first use of the boat ride started in his new role.
