Uwe Bredow

Uwe Bredow ( born August 22, 1961 in Leipzig ) is a former German football player. He spent his entire career at the 1 FC Locomotive Leipzig and its successor VfB Leipzig.

Career

With 8 years already, he came to the youth of the 1st FC Lok. In the season 1981/82 the East German Oberliga he had his first appearances in the men's team. This season, in which he had five appearances, he was a regular at the club. End of the season 1981/82 he celebrated the first major success of his young career with the fdgb Cup victory. 1986 and 1987 saw the addition of two more cup wins. The biggest international success came to him when he reached the final of the European Cup Winners' Cup in 1987, along with the team. Against Ajax Amsterdam Bredow was in the starting lineup. The final was lost 0-1. Uwe Bredow had a major role in ensuring that the lokše was ready. In the semi-final first leg against Girondins Bordeaux he scored the only goal of the game and the all-important away goal.

After renaming the club VfB Leipzig in 1991, he remained with the club. By 1993 VfB him promotion to the Bundesliga. He brought it to a total of 18 missions and scored a goal. After the end of the season Bredow ended his active career. In total he played 287 games for both clubs Leipzig, scoring 13 goals.

After the end of his career he founded a fan shop, which sold mainly devotional objects of the association. Even today one meets Uwe Bredow frequently in his Fanshop personally.
