From the 1960s Topper developed his own ideas about the potentially faulty chronology. The thesis Heribert Illig's the " Invented Middle Ages", in their submission, he participated at times, appeared to him as soon as too short cross. Topper goes by several devastating disasters worldwide ( cataclysms ) from ( three in the last thousand years ), which would have influenced the cultural development of humanity and a decisive impact on the formation of religions. Evidence he believes in landscape features and geology to recognize during archaeological excavations and in the traditions of different peoples. Inspired by William Kammeier he looks at the most written sources that show a date of origin before the year 1500, as doubtful, as subsequently falsified, backdated or re-created as part of a mainly clerical steered " Great Action ".

Toppers chronology critical theses are rejected by academic scientists. Topper since the late 1990s, published some books in new right or right publishers such as Herbig and Grabert. In the New Right in Dresden publishing era appearing neo-pagan magazine " HAGAL - The All Encompassing " claimed Topper 2003, the Nebra Sky Disk is a forgery. 2006 saw another book by him in the Grabert -Verlag and 2007 he published an article on chronology criticism in the journal Troja castle, which appeared in the right-wing Forsite -Verlag. A contextual proximity to the political right-wing has toppers from him.
