Uzbekistan Liberal Democratic Party

The Liberal Democratic Party of Uzbekistan ( Uzbek: Ozbekiston Liberal Demokratik Partiyasi, abbreviation Ozlidep; Russian Либерально - демократическая партия Узбекистана ) is a political party in Uzbekistan since 2007 and the official ruling party of Uzbekistan under the leadership of President Islom Karimov.

The Liberal Democratic Party was founded on 15 November 2003. The party supports the so-called Third Way, in its opinion. From the opposition it is regarded as authoritarian and conservative.

Election results

During the 2004-2005 parliamentary elections the party won 41 of 120 seats in the Oliy Majlis and in the Uzbek parliamentary election from 2009 to 2010 she won 55 of 150

The party has on 4 October 2007 determined the President Islam Karimov as its candidate in the 2007 presidential election to nominate, although many unsuitable Karimov saw from the perspective of legal effect, to run for another term.

On November 6, Karimov was the nominating convention unanimously elected as the presidential candidate of the Liberal Democratic Party in the party in the capital Tashkent - and Karimov accepted the nomination. Until then, he was Chairman of the People's Democratic Party of Uzbekistan.
