Valdemar Psilander

Valdemar Einar Psilander ( born May 9, 1884 in Copenhagen, † March 6, 1917 ) was a Danish silent film actor.

Life

Psilander made ​​his debut as a stage actor in 1901. Since 1910, he worked for the film. From 1911 to 1916 he was employed at Nordisk Film and starred in 83 films, often directed by August Blom. In his first year at film he starred opposite Asta Nielsen in Urban Gad The Black Dream (The varietal drøm ) and August Blom's ballet dancer ( Balletdanserinden ) on. The elegant and attractive actor quickly became a movie star, in Denmark but also in Russia and Germany.

Psilander intended to separate from Nordisk and to found his own production company, but he died under unclear circumstances not definitive in his hotel room. It is believed suicide.
