Valentyna Kozyr

Walentyna Kozyr (Ukrainian Валентина Козир, English transcription Valentyna Kozyr, Russian Валентина Васильевна Козырь - Valentina Wassiljewna Kozyr - Valentina Kozyr, married Авілова - Awilowa - Avilova, . Born April 25, 1950 in Chernivtsi ) is a former Ukrainian high jumper that for the Soviet Union launched.

In 1966 she became junior vice- European champion. At the 1968 Olympic Games in Mexico City, she won with her personal best of (1.80 m) the bronze medal behind Milena Rezková from Czechoslovakia (1.82 m) and her compatriot (1.80 m).

Walentyna Kozyr is married to the decathlete Mykola Avilov.
