Vallespir

The Vallespir is a natural spatial subdivision of the French Pyrenees. The capital is Ceret. In the northwest, the Vallespir is bounded by the Aspres.

History

The Vallespir and the other Comarques in Northern Catalonia were separated as a result of the Pyrenees, Peace of 1659 from the rest of Catalonia and awarded France.

The Vallespir is a historic comarca of Northern Catalonia in the south of France.
