Vallis Rheita

The Vallis Rheita is a Moon Valley. It counts with the Vallis Snell, extending further north in about the same direction, the longest valleys of the moon. Due to the strong erosion by overlying crater however, it is sometimes difficult to identify the course of the valley.

The eponymous crater Rheita is located at the northern end, and from there it runs in a south-easterly direction through the southern part of the crater Young, and ends near Reimarius A.

The official designation by the International Astronomical Union took place in 1961.
