Van Alstyne is a city in Grayson County in the U.S. state of Texas in the United States with approximately 2,500 inhabitants.

The town about 50 kilometers north of Dallas was settled in 1872, 1890 was the city's founding. The Umphress -Taylor House is run as a historic site.
