Van Hise Rock

The Van Hise Rock is a named after the geologist Charles R. Van Hise Rock in the U.S. state of Wisconsin in the United States.

The Van Hise Rock is located about 2 miles from the town of Rock Springs in Sauk County removed. The stone, which is considered to be very enlightening for numerous geological problems, especially in areas in which Van Hise researcher, received his honor his name. So Van Hise use the rock during his time as a professor at the University of Wisconsin -Madison as a visual piece in the field of structural geology. He is regarded as a tourist attraction and is used by many universities as a demonstration piece for students. The Van Hise rock was started in 1997 as a National Historic Landmark on the National Register of Historic Places. He is one of 42 historic sites in Wisconsin.
