Van Hogendorp

The Van Hogendorps are a noble family from the Netherlands.

Originally from the region of Rotterdam, they were in the 15th and 16th century the gentry belonging. The progenitor of the politically influential family was a captain, who was standing in Swedish service at the beginning of the 17th century. During the 18th century, the family gained high reputation in the civil service; 1745 was carried out by the Habsburg emperor the appointment to the Imperial Count. The Van Hogendorps obtained in the course of the 18th and 19th century access to the highest government offices of the Dutch Republic. Other nobility surveys were those of a Comte de l'Empire by Napoleon Bonaparte in 1811 and to the Netherlands Count [ and barons ] in the years 1815, 1822, 1830 and 1867. Gender has some heir, only the rich Count branch is to center of the 20th century extinguished.
