Vanadium ( V) is an inorganic chemical compound oxidtrifluorid of the vanadium from the group of oxide fluorides.
Production and representation
Vanadium (V) oxidtrifluorid can be obtained by the reaction of vanadium (III ) fluoride with oxygen.
It is also produced by hydrolysis of vanadium (V ) fluoride.
Properties
Vanadium ( V) - oxidtrifluorid is a light yellow moisture-sensitive solid. He has an orthorhombic crystal structure with space group Pnma. With water, it is hydrolyzed to vanadium ( V) oxide hydrate.
Use
Vanadium (V) oxidtrifluorid used in organic synthesis for the oxidative coupling of phenolic rings, for example for the manufacture of vancomycin.
