Vanaheimr

Vanaheimr, Old Norse for " Lives of the Vanir " Germanized also Wanenheim, in Norse mythology is the place where the god Njord was growing up. In the mythical world view Snorri Sturluson (especially in his Prose Edda ) is Wanenheim however, the place of residence of the Vanir or the world of the Vanir. This understanding as a divine alternative world to Asgard does not go but probably on a mythical tradition back, but on an interpretation of Snorri Sturluson.
