Vanessa Bell Calloway
Vanessa Bell Calloway ( born March 20, 1957 in Cleveland, Ohio as Vanessa Bell ) is an American actress.
Biography
Calloway studied at Howard University in Washington DC She learned dance at Alvin Ailey, George Faison, and Otis Sallid. The actress made her debut in 1985 with roles in television series such as All My Children and Days of Our Lives. In action thriller Daylight (1996 ) she played alongside Sylvester Stallone one of the major roles.
In the action movie Biker Boyz (2003) Calloway played the role of mother of the main character Kid ( Derek Luke ), whose enemy Smoke ( Laurence Fishburne ) turns out to be his biological father. The actress has been (as of October 2007) six times nominated for the Image Award, most recently in 2004 for her role in the television series The District - use in Washington.
The actress married in 1988, the doctor Anthony Calloway, with whom she has two daughters. Her daughter Ashley Calloway also works as an actress.
