Vascular lacuna

The muscular lacuna (Latin for muscle gate) and the lacuna vasorum (Latin: Vascular gate) are the passages for the arteries, veins, nerves and muscles that extend ( inguinal ligament ) below the inguinal ligament and supply the thigh.

  • 2.1 muscle portal
  • 2.2 container gate

Location and boundaries

Muscle gate

Muscle gate has a triangular cross-section. Windwärts belly ( ventral) it is the inguinal ligament, limited move upward ( dorsal) from the upper margin of the iliac bone ( ilium ). The directed towards the middle (medial ) boundary forms the arcuate belt extending between the inguinal ligament and bone survey ( iliopubic eminence ) of the hip bone (os coxae ) stretcheth ( Arcus iliopectineus ). This arc delimits the muscle gate of the vessel door.

Container gate

Abdominal Windwärts the vessel gate the inguinal ligament, limited move upward from the upper edge of the pubic bone ( pubic bone ). The lateral (lateral ) boundary is the arc-shaped band. This arc delineates the vascular gate from muscle gate. The directed towards the center of the vessel boundary gate forms the gates ligament ( lacunare ).

Content

Muscle gate

Through the door of the muscle lateral thigh skin nerve pass ( lateral femoral cutaneous nerve ), the femoral nerve ( femoral nerve ) and the lumbar -iliac muscle ( Musculus iliopsoas ).

Container gate

In vascular gate run in a common vascular sheath, the femoral artery ( femoral artery ), the pulse is palpable, the femoral vein ( femoral vein ) and the thigh load ( ramus femoralis ) genitofemoral nerve. Here are also sites lymph nodes and lymph vessels, such as the Rose Mueller lymph nodes. Most of the vessel door is filled by fat and connective tissue. The directed towards the center of the vessel gate is also known as femoral ring ( annulus femoralis ) and can be used for internal hernial a Oberschenkelhernie. It is through the femoral septum ( femoral lateral intermuscular septum ), a part of the inner muscle binding ( fascia ) of the abdominal wall ( fascia transversalis abdominis ) is closed.

First aid

For heavy bleeding in the leg area, which often represent a life-threatening situation, the femoral artery is pressure tested in the context of first aid by high pressure against the bony structures of the pubic bone to prevent bleeding to death.
