The Waskowo Airport (Russian Аэропорт Васьково, scientific transliteration Aéroport Vas'kovo, ICAO code УЛАХ ) is an airport in Russia, about 13 km south of Arkhangelsk. The airport is home to the Second united Arkhangelsk flight unit. From Waskowo from mainly regional destinations will be served.

Location and infrastructure

The Waskowo airport is located in a forest area, about 13 kilometers south of Arkhangelsk and two kilometers north of the homonymous settlement Waskowo. The airport has a 2,450 m long, 32 m wide runway and landing strip of reinforced concrete with the alignment of 13/31. From Waskowo from all helicopter types and aircraft can start with a maximum take-off weight of 80 tons. The terminal of the airport is located northeast of the airstrip. On the site there are no hotels nor restaurants, a bank or post office. The airport is linked by a highway with the Russian highway M8. From Arkhangelsk consists of a regular bus service to the airport by bus number 110

Airlines and destinations

With the opening of the airport Waskwowo in 1982, was the headquarters of the airline Btoroi Archangelski obedinjonny awijaotrjad (2- й Архангельский объединённый авиаотряд; German Second united Arkhangelsk flight unit ). The company assumes next to the passenger transport mainly regional transport tasks, including for oil companies and Arctic expeditions. There is a regular air services to the Solovetsky Islands. The company owns both helicopters ( Mi- 8 and Mi -26) as well as small aircraft ( An-2 and Let L- 410).
