Vassy, Calvados

Vassy is a commune with 1798 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the department of Calvados in the Basse -Normandie. It belongs administratively to the arrondissement Vire and Vassy Canton, whose capital it is.

Geography

Vassy is located approximately 45 kilometers southwest of Caen on the border further south past Orne. Neighboring municipalities are:

  • La Rocque and Saint -Vigor -des- Mézarets in the north,
  • La Chapelle- Passenger Bold in the Northeast,
  • Saint- Germain- du- Crioult in the southeast,
  • Moncy in the south ( Orne )
  • Rully in the southwest,
  • Chênedollé in the west and
  • Le Theil- Bocage in the northwest.
