Vathypetro

Vathypetro (Greek Βαθύπετρο ) is an archaeological site near Archanes in Crete (Greece ), in one of the oldest wine presses in the world can be seen. The excavations began in 1949 by the Greek archaeologist Spyridon Marinatos.

The estate is called a mansion or house, occasionally as a small palace. He comes from the Minoan period and had a prominent role for the rural region around Archanes. The complex consists of several buildings, courtyards and workshop spaces.
