The Velislaus Bible (also Velislavova bible or Velislai biblia picta ) is a late Gothic illuminated manuscript from the category of People's manuscripts, which was built between 1325 to 1349 in Prague.

Of the original 200 sheets of the manuscript 188 pages with 747 biblical scenes and brief comments in the style of a Bible of the poor are received. The illustrations are, as is typical for a Popular handwriting, mostly carried out without special artistic claim as pen and ink drawing with ink; a few in color. The manuscript was created in the first half of the 14th century by unknown painters letter on behalf of the canon Velislav. Velislav was clerk of the court of John of Bohemia in Prague; later he stayed IV as a notary and diplomat in the service of son Charles. Velislav itself is on fol. 188 R kneeling mapped before a statue of St. Catherine of Alexandria. The original is kept in the National Library of the Czech Republic in Prague under the signature XXIII.C.124. 2006 Velislaus Bible was declared a national cultural monument in the Czech Republic.
