History

On 17 May 1906, the Auerbach Football Club was founded. This was 1908 champion in the 2a class of Sportgaues Vogtland. Nevertheless, the registration took place only on 20 June 1913 in the Register. The AFC was renamed on 18 April 1919 in " VfB Auerbach 1906 eV ". Two years later, on September 18, 1921, the new stadium was inaugurated on Ziegeleiweg. After the occupation of Germany took place on June 10, 1945 for the forced dissolution of the association. In the autumn of the same year but the " sporting and cultural cartel Auerbach iV " with the department "Football ( Ziegeleiweg )" was formed. After the founding of the German Democratic Republic in 1949, the " BSG unit Auerbach " could also be founded on January 6, 1951. 1989 was the BSG with the sports of boxing, fencing, football, bowling, roller skating, tennis, table tennis, gymnastics / aerobics and walking / hiking the largest sports community Auerbach. In 1991, the " VfB Auerbach 1906 eV " was founded to its football department in 2003 promotion to the Oberliga Nordost. 2012 followed even as runner-up behind the FSV Zwickau promotion to the Regionalliga Nord. The second team of the club currently plays in the Vogtland league.
