Viasat

Viasat satellite platform is a Swedish media company Modern Times Group, the TV channels, pay- TV and video -on-demand offering. Main target area are Northern Europe and the Baltic States. About the satellites over 50 television stations will broadcast in 29 countries, of which partially in-house station.

History

After Modern Times Group had started with TV3 in Sweden the first commercial TV channels in Scandinavia, the send operation was expanded to Denmark and Norway, and in 1989 started the pay- TV channel TV1000 in the following year.

In 1991, the Modern Times Group began to broadcast via satellite. Seven years later, the company had over one million customers with satellite dishes. After 2001, when the first European satellite platform, the conversion was started on digital signal were about 500,000 households at the end of the digital customer. 2003 Viasat expanded to Eastern and Central Europe.

2008 Viasat Led Video -on- Demand offers a one year later in HDTV quality.
