Vic Lindquist

Carl Victor " Vic" Lindquist (born 22 March 1908 in Wabigoon, Ontario, † November 30, 1983 in Winnipeg, Manitoba ) was a Canadian ice hockey player, coach and umpire. In the 1932 Olympics he won the gold medal as a member of the Canadian national team.

Career

Vic Lindquist began his career as a hockey player at the junior team Kenora Thistles, for which he was active from 1923 to 1928. From 1930 to 1933 he played for the Winnipeg Hockey Club, with whom he 1931 Allan Cup, the Canadian amateur championship titles won. At the Winter Games in 1932, he represented Canada at the Winnipeg Hockey Club. In the 1934/35 season he played for the Winnipeg Monarchs, with whom he participated in the World Cup 1935.

At the 1936 Winter Olympics in Garmisch -Partenkirchen, he oversaw the Swedish national team, with whom he came in sixth. As of 1940, the Canadian was active as an arbitrator and in this function operates, among others, at the Olympic Winter Games in 1960 in Squaw Valley, and at the World Championships in 1962 and 1963.

In 1997, Lindquist was taken up as a player in the IIHF Hall of Fame. In 2004, the recording was followed into the Manitoba Sports Hall of Fame.

Internationally

For Canada Lindquist participated in the 1932 Olympics in part in Lake Placid, where he won the gold medal with his team. At the World Championships 1935 he also won with his team the gold medal.
