Vicente Asensi

Vicente Asensi Albentosa ( born January 28, 1919 in Alcudia de Crespins; † 2 September 2000 in Valencia) was a Spanish football player and coach.

Career

Association

Asensi played at the beginning of his career at amateur level for the FC Burjassot. In 1940 he moved to FC Valencia and played henceforth exclusively for this club. Together with Epi, Amadeo Ibáñez, Mundo and Guillermo Gorostiza he formed one of the most feared attack ranks of the forties. With his club, he won three championships and celebrated two Spanish Cups.

National

Asensi played six games for the Spanish national team. His debut celebrated on May 6, 1945, at Portugal. In 1950 he took part in the World Cup and reached his country to fourth place.
