Victor Villiger

Victor Villiger ( born September 1, 1868 in Cham, Switzerland, † June 10, 1934 in Ludwigshafen, Germany ) was a Swiss chemist.

Victor Villiger studied at the University of Geneva in Carl Graebe and, after his graduation and military service in the working group by Adolf von Baeyer at the University of Munich, with whom he worked 11 years. In 1899 and 1900 he developed together with the Baeyer Baeyer -Villiger oxidation. In 1905, after being awarded the title of doctor, he worked at BASF. There he worked with August Bernthsen of thiazine and oxazine dyes and later was at the central laboratory.
