Victor Westerholm

Axel Victor Westerholm ( born January 4, 1860 Nagu in Turku, † November 19, 1919 in Turku ) was a Finnish landscape painter.

He studied at the Art Academy in Dusseldorf with Eugen Dückerstieg and then at the Académie Julian in Paris with Jules -Joseph Lefebvre.

He taught at the School of the Art Society of Turku and was Director of the Turku Art Museum.

His motives were common winter landscapes and sunsets in the archipelago of the Åland Islands, where in the Lemland he had a summer house " Tomtebo ". In 1886, he invited several fellow painters one there, making an artists' colony was founded. In Åland place Önningeby a museum recalls.

His works can be seen among others in the following museums: Ateneum Helsinki; Amos Anderson Art Museum, Helsinki, Hämeenlinna Art Museum, Gösta Serlachius Museum Mänttä - Filpula, Villa Gyllenberg Helsinki.
