Videoton FC

The Videoton FC ( " Vidi " ) is a Hungarian football club from Székesfehérvár, a medium-sized city 60 km southwest of the capital Budapest. The name owes its existence to the sponsor Videoton, a Hungarian electrical appliance manufacturer. The club colors, founded in 1941, clubs are red and blue. The team wears their home games at the stadium from Sóstói ( attendance record: 40,000, against Real Madrid, May 8, 1985). The FC Székesfehérvár in 2006 Hungarian Cup winner.

In the season 1984/1985 Videoton Szekesfehervar attracted international attention. The club played in the UEFA Cup final, for the club had qualified third in the Hungarian league. On the way there Videoton Dukla Prague beat (1:0 / 0:0), Paris Saint- Germain ( 4:2 / 1:0), Partizan Belgrade ( 0:2 / 5:0 ), Manchester United (0-1 / 1-0) and FK Sarajevo Željezničar (3:1 / 1:2 ). In the final Videoton met Real Madrid, which proved to be too large than one number. The Hungarians lost the first leg on its own course with 0:3, but surprised in the return game with an albeit worthless 1-0 win in the Bernabeu Stadium.

The season 2010/ 11, the club finished as champions of the two games remaining, is the 40th season of the club in the first Hungarian League, the Nemzeti National Championship I.
