In the song, a young woman is sung, which is heavily involved in their world, instead of letting their dreams court. The chorus is " When will you realize, Vienna waits for you? Use as a soundtrack

The song was played in 1981 in an episode of the television series Taxi, titled Vienna Waits. The figure Elaine Nardo, played by Marilu Henner, refers while on vacation in Europe with Alex Reiger played by Judd Hirsch, on the song. Due to licensing restrictions, the song was omitted from the DVD release. Vienna is also included on the soundtrack to 30 overnight.

• The American singer and actress Ariana Grande coverte the song in 2011 and sent it as an mp3 file to their fans if they complied with their call for donations for the victims of the Tohoku earthquake of 2011. She later released the song on their YouTube channel.
