Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator

The Vienna Environmental Research Accelerator ( VERA ) is a particle accelerator of the University of Vienna. The main task of field is the accelerator mass spectrometry.

It is located in the building Währigerstraße 17 in Alsergrund, the location of the nuclear physics near the Medizinunversität.

Technical

VERA is a 3 - MV Pelletron tandem accelerator. He has two SNICS ion sources ( Source of Negative ion by cesium sputtering). The magnets are also designed for use in heavy elements.
