Viivi & Wagner

Viivi & Wagner is a comic draftsman of the Finnish Jussi " Juba " Tuomola.

Viivi, a young Finn mid-twenties, lives with the pig Wagner. Although fully anthropomorphized, Wagner sees himself as a pig. The two love each other - when they're not arguing.

The comic first appeared in the youth magazine " Kultapossu " (Gold pig) of the Finnish Sampo Bank. In this original version Viivi was a child and Wagner her living piggy bank. After the end of " Kultapossu " Juba changed the format and drew the comic strip for from now on as daily newspapers. In this context Viivi and Wagner were also to adults.

Viivi and Wagner are very popular in Finland, not least because of the quirky humor. Viivi and Wagner argue about world views, arguing or Wagner comes as a pig in for him absurd situations that would usually for a man.

The comic could be understood feminist ( "Men are pigs " ), but this is not tenable with knowledge of the history.

A German translation does not exist in 2009.
