Viktor Chanov

Viktor Viktorovich Tschanow (Ukrainian Віктор Вікторович Чанов; Russian Виктор Викторович Чанов; born July 21, 1959 in Donetsk, Ukrainian SSR ) is a former Soviet- Ukrainian football goalkeeper.

Viktor Tschanow began his career as a goalkeeper for FC Shakhtar Donetsk in 1978. Already Tschanows father Viktor was goalkeeper in the first team of Shakhtar and his older brother Vyacheslav was also an outstanding goalkeeper. In 1980, he won the Soviet Cup with the team of Donetsk.

After 62 games for Shakhtar in the highest Soviet League Tschanow moved in 1982 to Dynamo Kiev. With Kiev it was 1985, 1986 and 1990, Soviet champion and 1982, 1985, 1987 and 1990, Soviet Cup winner. In the 1985/1986 season he won with his team the European Cup Winners' Cup. In the finals in Lyon on 2 May 1986 against Atlético Madrid Tschanow in goal for Dynamo.

Tschanow graduated from 1982-1990 a total of 21 games for the Soviet national team. He stood at the World Championships in 1982, 1986 and 1990 and at the European Championships in 1988 in the Soviet contingent, however, was during these tournaments only substitute for the goalkeeper Rinat Dassajew.

In 1990 Tschanow moved to Israel for Maccabi Haifa. Set up in 1991 with this team of Israeli champion and 1991 and 1993 and Cup Winners' Cup. After a season with Bnei Yehuda Tel Aviv in 1994, he returned back to the Ukraine and even graduated ten league games for FK CSKA Borisfen Kiev in the Wyschtscha Liha.

After his playing career was temporarily Tschanow goalkeeper coach of Dynamo Kiev.
