Villa Atma

The Karol Szymanowski Museum in Zakopane, ul Kasprusie 19, is a branch of Krakow's National Museum.

The composer Karol Szymanowski (1882-1937) lived there between 1930 and 1935. Staying in Zakopane should bring him the cure for his tuberculosis.

The wooden villa in the style of highland architecture was built in 1895 by Józef Kaspruś - Stoch as an inn. Music critic Jerzy Waldorff raised funds to purchase the villa in 1974, the villa was handed over to the National Museum in Krakow for the creation of a museum. The Szymanowski Museum has existed since 1976. The study of the composer was as faithfully arranged. The other rooms that were once used as apartment were equipped with period furniture.
