Villefranche-sur-Saône
Villefranche -sur -Saône ( arpitanisch Velafranche ) is a commune with 35,640 inhabitants (as of 1 January 2011) in the Rhône department in the Rhône -Alpes; it is the administrative center for the district of Villefranche -sur -Saône and Canton of Villefranche -sur -Saône. The inhabitants of the city (it) called Caladois.
Geography
Villefranche is the largest agglomeration in Beaujolais, is therefore also sometimes called Villefranche -en- Beaujolais. The city is located 25 km north of Lyon, tourists primarily known as southern toll station ( péage ) the Autoroute A6.
Neighboring municipalities are Gleizé, Lima, Arnas, Beauregard and Jassans- Riottier.
