Benjamin Biolay
Benjamin Biolay [ bɛʒamɛ bjɔlɛ ] ( born January 20, 1973 in Villefranche -sur -Saône ) is a French singer and actor. Along with several other artists such as Dominique Philippe Katerine A or he is one of the most famous representatives of the nouvelle chanson.
Life
Biolay has completed a classical education for tuba and violin at the Conservatory of Lyon. In the early 1990s he turned to pop music, with his first band " Mateo Gallion " was very successful. From 1996 he worked as a solo artist with a contract with EMI. Only in a duo with Keren Ann in 1999 he was known. The two wrote pieces for the comeback album " Chambre avec vue " (2000) by Henri Salvador.
Besides his own works Biolay was successful mainly due to the co-operation with well-known artists such as Isabelle Boulay and Valérie Lagrange, on their comeback album from 2003 he worked. Wrote for his sister Coralie Clément and he produced three albums " Salle de pas perdus " ( 2001), " Bye Bye Beauté " ( 2004) and " Toystore " (2008). On the album "Home", he worked with his wife Chiara Mastroianni, of which he is now divorced.
Biolay is considered a representative of the "new song ", where he can start with the term little.
He is also active as an actor; his debut was in 2004 in the film Why ( Not) Brazil?. In 2008, he starred in the movie Stella.
In 2013 he was president- du- jury -de- la- 6eme -edition- you -festival- d- Angouleme.
