Villennes-sur-Seine

Villennes -sur -Seine is a municipality with 5103 inhabitants (as of January 1, 2011 ) in the Yvelines department in the Île -de -France region of France. The name Villennes is derived from the Latin villa. The term Villennes -sur -Seine was created in 1907.

Geography

Villennes -sur -Seine on the left bank of the Seine eleven kilometers west of Saint- Germain -en- Laye. In the north it is bounded by Médan, in the west of Orgeval and to the east of Poissy.

For the commune belongs to an island in the Seine: on this Ile de Villennes is a private property. The train station of Villennes -sur -Seine is of the Paris regional train ( ligne de banlieue ) is approached.
