Vinasat 1

VINASAT 1 is a geostationary communications satellite of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam. It was built on the basis of a closed on 12 May 2006 contract by Lockheed Martin and started, but by the Vietnam Posts and Telecommunications Group ( VNPT ) operated. The project started in 1995. Late 2002 the design phase was completed in early 2003 and started the bidding phase for the satellite. VINASAT 1 was launched on 18 April 2008 by an Ariane 5 ECA rocket along with Star One C2 into space and positioned at 132 degrees East. The satellite is based on the satellite bus A2100A platform of Lockheed Martin and is equipped with C / Ku-band transponders hybrid.
