Vincent Alo

Vincent " Jimmy Blue Eyes" Alo ( born May 26, 1904 in Manhattan, New York; † 9 March 2001, Florida) was a high-ranking American Mobster of La Cosa Nostra.

Life

Vincent Alo was born in 1904 in Manhattan and began to earn his money on Wall Street at the age of 14 years. In 1923 he landed in Sing Sing, after he was convicted of armed bank robbery. In 1926 he became a member of the American Mafia family with Joseph Masseria, which was later classified as a Genovese family.

Under the head of Lucky Luciano Alo came in contact with Meyer Lansky and Alo was the bodyguard because Luciano was afraid his childhood friend and business partner could be attacked in the budding controversy, particularly between the five families. There were always known the resources of the Bugs and Meyer Mob, Luciano had been instrumental in his conflicts.

In the 1930s, Vincent Alo and Meyer Lansky began working together immediately and went into the gambling business. The person Vincent Alo was in the movie The Godfather - Part II by Francis Ford Coppola by the figure of Johnny Ola (played by Dominic Chianese ) immortalized. Johnny Ola plays there the right hand of Hyman Roth ( portrayed by Lee Strasberg ), which is an allusion to the partnership Lansky Alo.
