Vincent Mensah

Vincent Mensah ( born July 19, 1924 in Cotonou, Benin, † March 10, 2010 in Paris, France) was a Roman Catholic Bishop of Porto Novo.

Life

Vincent Mensah received on 21 December 1952, the sacrament of Holy Orders. He was the first professor of canon law, fundamental theology and apologetics in the Minor Seminary of Ouidah and 1961-1965 at the seminary in Ouidah.

1970 Pope Paul VI appointed him. Bishop of Porto Novo. Paul Cardinal Zoungrana MAFR, Archbishop of Ouagadougou in Burkina Faso, gave him on 19 December 1970, the episcopal ordination; Co-consecrators were Robert - Casimir Tonyui Messan Dosseh - Anyron, Archbishop of Lomé in Togo, and Bernardin Gantin, bishop of Cotonou.

2000 the resignation request was granted on grounds of age. He died on a trip to Paris at the effects of a stroke.
